Challenge

Enel has now a presence in 22 countries with 75,500 MW of generating capacity (on 31st December 2007) and serves more than 50 million power and gas customers. Listed on the Milan stock exchange since 1999, Enel has the largest number of shareholders of any Italian company, at some 1.7 million retail and institutional investors. Enel is also the second-largest Italian operator in the natural gas market, with approximately 2.5 million customers and a 10% market share in terms of volumes.

Solution

The Enel North American team focuses on using HyperOffice to manage their growing North American division and enhance communication with their international presence. Domestically in the United States, Enel is a growing presence and as such HyperOffice is a key component to facilitating that growth. Through the use of the shared document section, calendar function and project management tool, Enel NA has much of the same resources as their European counterpart on a smaller scale, well suited for their North American operations.
