A Project helps you organize your tasks. You can classify different tasks for different projects. A project can be treated like a folder. You can create multiple sub-projects within a project. You can add a separate status for the project and also assign priority, start date, due date and completed information similar to how it is done for a new task.
To create a new project:
From the My Tasks page, click the new project button.
The Create New Project page appears.
You can add the following information to describe a new project:
Name |
Type the name of the project you are adding. Note: Name is a mandatory field. |
Description |
The description field lets you specify additional information for the project you are creating. |
Start Date |
The Start Date option is a default option. If you choose not to use the Start Date option select the No Start checkbox. When this box is checked, the Start Date option for the project is disabled. You can also use the Calendar icon to select a date. |
Due Date |
You can use the Due Date option to document the date when the project should be completed. Select a month, date and year from the drop-down to set a due date. By default, the Due Date option is disabled. To enable this option, select the No Due checkbox so the box is NOT checked. This checkbox must not be checked if you want to use this option. |
Status |
You can change the status of the project by selecting the options in the status list. The options you can use are: Not Begun: This is the default state of a project when you create it. This status means that the project has only been defined and is not in progress. In Progress: This state means that the project is being performed and is in progress. Complete: The complete status means that the project has been completed. When you select this option, the projects still remain in the list of incomplete projects. Waiting on Someone Else: Waiting on someone else can be used to describe the status when you are waiting for someone else to complete some other project. Suspended: This status indicates that the project has been suspended. |
