You can create a new task and assign a status to the task. When you create a new task, you should always carefully define each field so you (or the person assigned the task) can clearly understand how to complete the task.
To create a new task:

quickly create a new tasks, select the new task option on the Shortcuts
list on the top of the page.
The Create New Task page appears. On this page, you can enter any of the following fields:
Type the subject of the task. This field is limited to 255 characters. Note: Subject is a mandatory field. | |
Notes |
Type additional information in the notes field. Since the Subject field gives a description of the task, all other information about the task or other dependent information should be stored in the notes field. |
Start Date |
You can use the Calendar icon to select a start date. The Start Date option is an optional field. If you choose not to use the Start Date option, select the No Start checkbox. When this box is selected, the Start Date option for the task is disabled. |
Due Date |
The Due Date is by default disabled. To enable this option, deselect the No Due Date checkbox. You can use the Calendar icon to select a due date. |
Finish Date |
The Finish Date is by default disabled. To enable this option, deselect the No Finish Date checkbox. You can use the Calendar icon to select a finish date. |
Status |
You can change the status of the task by selecting the options in the status list. The options you can use are: Not Begun: This is the default setting of a new task. This indicates that the task has only been defined and is not in progress. In Progress: This setting indicates that the task is being performed and is in progress. Complete: This setting indicates that the task has been completed. When you select this option, the tasks still remain in the list of incomplete tasks. Waiting on Someone Else: This setting indicates that you are waiting for someone else to complete some other task before you can complete your task. Suspended: This setting indicates that the task has been suspended. |
Priority |
Select a priority to keep different tasks at different priorities. The options of priority are: 1 (High) 2 (Normal) 3 (Low) |
Evaluate Notes as HTML |
This checkbox can be used to print the notes section as html content. If the checkbox is selected, the notes will appear in rich text format rather than plain text. |
Completed |
This checkbox is used to indicate if the status of the task is completed. When you select this box, the task is treated as completed. |
Add a Reminder |
This checkbox allows you to add reminders of specific tasks. When you select the checkbox, an additional section is added to the My Tasks page. The section is described below. |
Location |
This list gives the list of all the projects and sub projects within your personal folder. You can select the project or sub project where you want to create the new task. |
Add a Reminder |
You can use this checkbox to add a reminder to yourself (or someone else) about a specific task. When you select this checkbox, the Reminder Information area appears. The options available for setting a reminder are: Date: select the date and time when you want to get the reminder. There are different options for getting the reminder mentioned later in this section. Reminder: The content in this field is displayed when you receive the reminder. Notes: The notes field contains information about the task. This information will be displayed in the reminder. Evaluate Notes as HTML: This checkbox is used to print the notes section as html content. If the checkbox is selected, the notes will appear in rich text, if it is unselected, it will appear as plain text.

Click the Create Task and Add Another button to create a new task and add another new task. |
Cancel |
Click this button to cancel your task information. |
