Administration

The Administration section in the homepage provides links to existing Administration tasks for the group. You can access additional tasks such as adding the Message of the day and the News headlines to help you broadcast information to all members of the group.

Note:  Only Group Administrators can view settings available in this section.

Usage Guidelines

To access your group administration, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Groups tab on the left navigation bar.

  2. Click on the Group Memberships icon. The Active Memberships page appears.

  3. Click on the name of your default portal group to access its homepage. The Group homepage appears.

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page to access the Administration section of the Group homepage.

Owners or users can view the administration part of the page with administrative rights for the group. The Administration section on the home page consists of the following options:

Group Administration

Click this button to create a new subgroup, modify groups properities, configure user accounts, configure folder permissions, and invite users to a group. When you click this button, the Group Administration page appears.

Modify Message of the Day

Click this button to modify the message of the day. For more information on how to modify this message, refer to the Message of the Day topic in this help file.

Modify News Headlines

Click this button to modify news headlines. For more information on how to modify this headline, refer to the Company Announcements topic in this help file.

Invite Users

Click this button to invite users to join your group. For more information on how to invite users, refer to the Invite User to a Group topic in this help file.

View Membership Directory

Click this button to view the membership directory.  The View Membership Directory allows you to view the members of your group. Two options must be selected in order to be viewed in the group. First, within your personal settings the Allow other users to retrieve this information checkbox must be selected. Second, when creating a new group the user must select the Allow group members to see all members option.
