About HyperOffice:

Business collaboration tools are worth their weight in gold, saving time, money, and resources. A grown-up software company, HyperOffice helps you advance to software as a service (SaaS) and cloud services instead of trying to manage software and servers on your own.

In conversation with HyperOffice’s President, Farzin Arsanjani there was concern for the common challenges most organizations face in taking advantage of the cloud and social collaboration. Arsanjani said, “We’re continuing to offer value in functionality without compromising ease of use. We focused a lot of energy to give our customers access to develop a collaborative environment.”

Arsanjani is enthusiastic for HyperOffice’s future direction, listening intently to customer feedback and driving change.

Best uses for HyperOffice:

After several conversations with different people at HyperOffice, and a trial subscription, my take on best uses for HyperOffice includes:

An intranet of workspaces can scale as the organization changes to keep communication and data assets centralized in one location.
Traditional work groups can convert to social collaboration workspaces while keeping business processes and permissions intact.
Interlinking technology shows linked objects when and where you need to, like on a project you want to see all project related documentation.

Inside HyperOffice:

Aligning your corporate mission and business goals through governance planning is a good place to start as you consider software like HyperOffice.

Workspaces. Acknowledging how traditional groups have worked in the past, by department, project team, or customer group, the transition to social collaboration goes from a group concept to a workspace. Workspace users can perform various business processes, like contact, project, and document management among other examples. Deep permissions and privacy satisfies healthcare, financial, and other restrictive industries affected by regulatory requirements. A personal workspace is given for each individual user, marked private, aside from the joined workspace with other users.

Social Feed. The social feed can be set up for any given workspace and one centralized corporate workspace feed. Users can subscribe to others and see activities that affect their work and need to be informed. To share with others in the social feed, you can attach contacts, calendar events, documents, links, and tasks that are part of any of the workspaces you have access to.

HyperBase Web Database. Advanced users may want to look closely at HyperBase, the database stored in the cloud. For small businesses, especially those without a dedicated IT department, there is no need to keep a database server but you can utilize the power of a database to analyze data in Excel spreadsheets or baseline CSV files. HyperBase can be a starting point to create new web forms to collect data, for example, lead tracking or order processing.

Interlinking. HyperOffice’s interlinking technology is proprietary and part of the features you will see from any workspace. Depending on permissions, you can see links to various email communication, events, purchase orders, billing, customer support tickets, and so on, depending on the types of documents, contact records, and communication you enable in the workspace.

Document Management. HyperOffice helps you manage documents, including version control through technology call WebDAV to move files to and from your HyperOffice workspace. You can check in, check out documents to edit and publish, and use Windows or Macintosh security protocols.

Additional useful tools include:

– Instant messaging (in beta)
– Sticky personal notes
– Reminders to send to email, calendar, or tasks
– Voting tool can be used in any workspace
– Forum for workspace specific discussions
– Wiki for blogging, announcements, and knowledgebase creation

Customer Support and Pricing:

HyperOffice teams work closely with users to receive feedback. To set up HyperOffice, a professional services team with expertise in given industries, like financial, healthcare, energy, real estate, legal, and construction to name a few, support implementations ongoing.

Pricing of subscription packages is based on number of users, storage, and the most useful technologies to benefit your specific organization and business requirements. For example, you can actually use HyperOffice as a hosting email provider, or you can migrate Microsoft Exchange or other email programs. Mobile push notification is available only on Enterprise and Total subscriptions. You can start with a 15-day trial subscription.
