Cloud-computing tools create online database management applications that collect, manage, analyze business data shared by teams, customers, partners, suppliers

ROCKVILLE, MD., 30 Sept. 2009 – HyperOffice today announced HyperBase, “cloud-computing” software tools that give business users the ability to easily collect, manage and analyze web-based data – and share it with teams, customers, partners and suppliers.

Users of HyperBase can quickly create online database management applications for automating common business tasks, such as managing events, tracking inventory and sales leads, user and customer surveys, and processing support tickets.

“Spreadsheets and traditional database management software like Microsoft Access lock data away inside one user’s computer,” said Farzin Arsanjani, president of HyperOffice.

“HyperBase is tightly integrated with and adds significant new power to HyperOffice,” said Arsanjani.

HyperOffice is the award-winning online messaging and collaboration software that makes it easier for growing businesses to collaborate, communicate, manage projects, share documents, schedule meetings and tasks, and manage information, anytime, from work, from home, while traveling, using any Internet connection.

“HyperBase is an ideal alternative to Microsoft Access and other traditional database software,” said Arsanjani. “It moves this data to the web, where it can be shared with colleagues, managers and clients anywhere on the planet, using public web sites, private Intranets and mobile devices, including smartphones.”

HyperBase users design and build contact forms, online surveys, customer order forms, event registrations and other online forms “in minutes, without writing a single line of code,” said Arsanjani.

“We are converting a fact-finding spreadsheet into an online form,” said Lisa Whipps, client services manager at Trincon, http://www.trincon.com, a consultant to trucking and transportation companies across the United States and Canada that is based in Columbus, Ohio.

Whipps has been beta testing HyperBase since June 2009.

“The spreadsheet is huge – 11 pages, hundreds of questions analyzing business operations, staffing, resources, and more. It’s labor intensive. The clients often write out answers on paper. It often takes a month. Our goal is to give the clients a link to complete the questionnaire via online forms, to get rid of the paper, to speed this up,” she said.

“We began using HyperOffice to share calendars with our consultants all over the country,” said Whipps. “We’ve added in HyperDrive and other tools to streamline work. We expect the same from HyperBase.”

HyperBase imports and exports from xls and csv files. Settings and permissions determine which users see changes made by other users – and which data collected by a web form is “private” or “shared.”

“Where HyperOffice users coordinated projects or shared documents, now, with HyperBase, we share information that was locked away inside spreadsheets and databases,” said Arsanjani. “HyperOffice becomes an easy-to-use platform for software-as-a-service applications that growing businesses want to migrate to the web. There’s no complexity – and with everything online, on the web, we take care of the software updates, uptime and security; and users stay focused on business.”

HyperBase will be available as part of the HyperOffice online collaboration suite that Tata Communications offers to business subscribers in India and 200 other countries under a marketing agreement announced in late August.
