Web-based collaboration and communication software opens iPhone to business users
ROCKVILLE, MD., May 13, 2008 - HyperOffice took third place in the third annual AT&T Fast-Pitch Contest for Enterprise Solutions.
The contest spotlighted mobile collaboration tools added by HyperOffice that make it possible for users of smartphones, including the iPhone, to access corporate email and , calendars, tasks and notes. The Web-based collaboration software operates as an alternative to Microsoft Exchange, the corporate messaging platform that the iPhone does not support. HyperOffice synchronizes the iPhone email client with Microsoft Outlook, giving business users wireless access to secure corporate messaging and collaboration services from work, from home, and while traveling.
'This opens the iPhone - or any smartphone -- to business,' said Shahab Kaviani, vice president, marketing and sales, HyperOffice. 'We are creating a new market for AT&T, and we look forward to introducing HyperOffice to the business users who are looking for an alternative to Microsoft Exchange so they can keep Microsoft Outlook and continue working with employees, clients, partners and suppliers without the hassles of Exchange.'
The panel of judges picked HyperOffice in the category 'Best New Small-Medium Business (SMB) Targeted Application' after evaluating hundreds of applications from mobile software developers.
Fast-Pitch allows developers to meet with AT&T officials in person to discuss their applications for consideration for placement on AT&T's wireless network.
"Fast Pitch continues to be a very successful program in helping us to find new and innovative wireless applications," said Mark Collins, vice president of Consumer Data, AT&T's wireless unit. "We extend our congratulations to all the winners and thanks to this year's participants."
